The Mayor of Syracuse has admitted he does not love the idea of New Yorker’s being able to smoke marijuana at the State Fair that begins Aug. 20.
While he may not like the idea of its use at the fair, he does support the state’s decision to legalize it.
Ben Walsh, Syracuse City Mayor, went on to say that he just doesn’t like the idea of young kids being in close proximity to both cigarette and marijuana smoke.
New York is the 15th state to legalize marijuana, allowing it to be smoked wherever cigarettes are smoked. Adults 21 and older may possess up to three ounces.
Liverpool residents stated they were concerned about the smell and being close to children.
Organizers for the fair ask that anyone using it be courteous of others.
