With the guidelines finally being released for school this fall, some parents don’t feel comfortable sending their child in for the full 5 day week.
It is up to the schools whether they decide they want to offer remote learning or not.
On woman in Brighton, Lauren Dewater, said she is not comfortable sending her children back until they can be fully vaccinated.
Brighton is one of the schools not offering remote learning, so Dewater is turning to homeschooling.
Dewater said she will be switching around her work schedule and using curriculum off the school’s website.
Her three children are under the age of 12 and immunocompromised.
Other schools, like Rochester City and Greece Central School Districts are offering online learning for kids with medical situations.
