First responders have provided new information on the bomb threat that was sent to school officials in Penn Yan earlier this week.
On Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. Penn Yan Central School District buildings were placed into lockdown after a bomb threat was received.
Police say staff received the call in which the person claimed to be a student’s parent- and that their child was on the way to the school.
The buildings were secured- and officers able to speak with the alleged parent and student. Neither of which were found to be involved in the incident. In fact, police described the call as a ‘prank’ in a news release.
The investigation remains active, according to police, who say that they are working with state and federal partners to determine where the call originated.
