A fire broke out in a field in the village of Penn Yan on Friday.
Oliver Oswald was baling straw when the baler and field caught fire on Ferguson Corners Road.
Oswald drove to a safe location and unhooked the tractor to save it.
Bellona, Benton and Penn Yan Fire Departments responded to the fire and it was contained to a small area of the field.
