Local hospitals are having little trouble recruiting nurses

Hospitals are attempting to secure more nursing staff in anticipation of another wave of Covid-19.

Incentives are being utilized to try to bring in more staff, with Arnot Heath and Guthrie Hospital both offering bonuses, and benefits tuition assistance.

Hospitals are also reaching out to recruit through social media.

Stephany Achterberg, a nurse recruiter at Arnot Health said Linked-In has worked great.

Despite the shortage, hospitals are successfully finding nursing staff, and with the new class graduating in May more nurses are available.

Guthrie has hired almost 70 newly licensed RN’s that recently graduated.
