A portion of Elmira Road was closed on Monday in Ithaca after a gas leak prompted emergency response from first responders and NYSEG crews.

The Ithaca Fire Department said that just before 1:00 p.m. Monday, a construction crew working at the intersection of Elmira Road and Commercial Ave, struck a natural gas line, releasing high-pressure gas.
