FPWA, an anti-poverty group, is working to improve vaccination rates in Black communities in the state.
FPWA was given grant money from the state as part of a $15 million dollar program to help fight vaccination hesitancy in communities that seem to have it the most.
The group received $5.5 million dollars to put toward their efforts.
Public health and government officials are facing a challenge due to the history surrounding medical experiments of Black people in the United States, creating distrust.
