Are $100 payments for COVID vaccine coming? Federal government calls on state, locals to do it

President Joe Biden is calling on state, territory, and local governments to provide $100 to anyone who gets vaccinated against COVID-19.

The incentive was laid out to boost vaccination rates, according to the Treasury Department.

It’s part of the federal government’s core plan to force federal workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Biden is pointing to anecdotal evidence that a $100 reward will get results.

Altogether the American Rescue Plan allocated $350 billion to states, territorial, and local governments in the form of the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds Program.

These funds can be used to pay for the incentive program.
