Police are asking for the public’s help following the start of a robbery investigation in the city of Ithaca on Saturday.
Around 2:30 a.m. police were called to the 300 block of West State Street for an attempted robbery that had just occurred.
Prior to police arrival the suspects fled the scene, prompting an investigation.
According to the victim, he was out for a walk when a black male and female approached him- and began grabbing at him. They attempted to reach his pockets- at which point the victim said he had no property on him.
The victim was then struck in the head with a metal folding chair- and the suspects, who were not able to obtain any property from him- fled the area.
The victim suffered lacerations and contusions to his head- and was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.
