Lyn St. James will receive the Cameron R. Argetsinger Award this fall

Lyn St. James will be honored with the Cameron R. Argetsinger Award for Outstanding Contributions to Motorsports on Sept. 11, 2021 by the International Motor Racing Research Center.

The ceremony will return after a year off to its new location: the Jack Daniel’s Club at Watkins Glen International during the Hilliard U.S. Vintage Grand Prix weekend.

Bob Varsha, motorsports broadcast journalist, will emcee the ceremony.

St. James has collected a number of firsts and records in the racing world over her 20 year career. She’s the first female to receive the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year for her debut in 1992.

She is the only woman to win an IMSA GT race as a solo driver with her victory in the Serengeti 500 race at Watkins Glen in 1985.

St. James has also been recognized for her distinguished service to racing, driver education, and as an advocate for women’s participation in sports.

Tickets are on sale now and the proceeds benefit the IMRRC.
