Police in Penn Yan report the arrest of a 56-year-old village resident after an investigation of a domestic incident.
Lisa Bates, 56, of Penn Yan was charged with second-degree criminal contempt after attempting to contact a person who was protected by a court order.
Police say Bates admitted she tried contacting the victim. She was taken into custody without incident.
The charge will be answered at a later date in local court.
