Grand jury indicts man on 20 felony counts; public defender disputes charges

A grand jury in Yates County has indicted a 39-year-old Dundee man on 20 charges.

John Johnston, 39, of Dundee was arrested and taken to the Yates County Jail where he was held in lieu of bail.

He faces 20 counts of aggravated family offense, which is a felony charge.

The public defender representing Johnston said the charges stemmed from communication made after the judge had announced that the parties were allowed to communicate electronically.
