While the border closure between Canada and the United States is frustrating many, it is especially frustrating for a man from Ontario and his girlfriend from Buffalo.
Oliver Collins, of Port Colborne, Ontario, traveled for 24 hours by train, bus, and airplane in order to see his girlfriend, Suzanne Weingarten, from Buffalo, for the holiday weekend.
The entire trip for Collins consisted of a ride to Niagara Falls, a bus to Burlington, a GO train to downtown Toronto, the UP Express to Pearson airport, then a flight to Newark, NJ with a three hour layer before flying to Buffalo.
The drive from Ontario to Buffalo is about an hour.
Officials in Canada have said they will not open the border until 70% of Canadians are vaccinated and they are currently 51% shy of that mark.
