Lyons man charged with DWI after hitting utility pole, not cooperating with deputies

Deputies report the arrest of a Lyons man following an investigation into a property damage crash that happened along State Route 14.

Zackary Albrecht, 22, of Lyons was charged with DWI after patrols were dispatched to a property damage collision along Route 14.

He was headed south when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. During the investigation, deputies determined that Albrecht was under the influence of alcohol.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where he refused to submit to a breath test.

Deputies say Albrecht failed field sobriety tests and was released on appearance tickets for DWI, moving from lane unsafely, obstructed plate, and refusal to take a breath test.

The Lyons Fire Department and Lyons Ambulance both assisted at the scene.
