The Town Board in Fayette will hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. to discuss the consideration of placing a referendum on this November’s ballot.
The meeting will take place in the municipal building on Yellow Tavern Road.
If it is approved then voters will decide whether or not to reduce the term of highway superintendent from 4 to 2 years.
The issue rose after disagreements between board members and the current Highway Superintendent Andy Brown. Brown won the Republic Party primary race on June 22.
The public is invited to attend.
