Canandaigua man faces drug, weapon charges after Geneva motel incident

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 28-year-old Canandaigua resident following an incident at the America’s Best Value Inn located on State Routes 5&20 in Geneva.

Eric Khauka, 28, of Canandaigua is a convicted felon, and at the time of the incident, was found to be in possession of a shotgun, as well as two controlled substances.

Deputies say that incident occurred on March 16, 2021, while his arrest on the weapons charge related to that incident didn’t take place until this week when he was taken into custody on unrelated charges by state police.

Deputies say Khauka was taken into custody without incident and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
