Due to a recent database issue, Wegmans customers may have had personal information like phone numbers, birthdays, emails and passwords exposed.
The company blamed a configuration issue when two databases the business uses were left open inadvertently, leaving the possibility to outside access.
The issue has been fixed and customers have been notified. Passwords for the Wegmans website are protected so characters are not available in the database. Social security numbers and banking information was not impacted.
