USPS worker fired, pleads guilty to stealing gift cards in Central New York

A North Syracuse man who worked for the U.S. Postal Service in the Central New York area faces five years in prison after pleading guilty to three felony charges related to stealing gift cards from USPS customers.

Thomas J. Joslin, 58, of North Syracuse admitted to the thefts, which took place between March 2019 and June 2019.


Store gift cards and prepaid credit cards were all stolen- each worth hundreds of dollars in cases.

The charges carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 7, 2021. He’s also been terminated from the USPS.
