Police: Prattsburgh man had motorcycle that didn’t belong to him, attempted to deceive officers during/after investigation

Police say 28-year-old Cory Roth, of Prattsburgh was arrested Thursday afternoon after an investigation into an unregistered motorcycle that was found in the parking area of the outlet off of Cherry Street in Penn Yan.

According to police, Roth claimed that the motorcycle had broke down. He was interviewed by officers, and later police were notified that he had an active arrest warrant.

Police did not know about the warrant until after the first interaction, but he was later spotted- and a traffic stop was attempted.

He fled on foot and was not taken into custody.

On June 10, Roth responded to the Penn Yan Police Department to retrieve the motorcycle, and attempted to deceive law enforcement.

He was ultimately charged with criminal impersonation, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without insurance, AUO, and a number of other offenses.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
