Victor teen wins free ride to SUNY school under COVID vaccine raffle

A Victor teen was among the first winners to receive a full-ride to a SUNY school after getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

This week 10 winners were selected, and up until hours before the announcement- his family had no idea.

Jack Lucchesi was the winner. He’s a 15-year-old who still has a few years before entering college.

The scholarship covers room-and-board, as well as tuition. “Congratulations to them. They just won a full four-year scholarship. Room, and board,” Gov. Cuomo said.

“I had no idea what to think, but now it’s just really cool to support this, and show that people getting the vaccine could get what I got,” Lucchesi told News10NBC after the announcement.
