CDC expected to erase most mask requirements for vaccinated people

The CDC is expected to issue revised guidance on Thursday telling Americans that masks are not required indoors in most settings for vaccinated people.

Even within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there has been ongoing debate about the need for masks in settings where people are vaccinated.

The vaccines for COVID-19 have been proven to be widely effective at preventing the spread of the virus.

“If you are going into a completely crowded situation, where people are essentially falling all over each other, then you wear a mask. But at any other time, if you’re vaccinated and you’re outside, put aside your mask. You don’t have to wear it,” Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Thursday.

He pointed to the time arriving that America let up on wearing face coverings in some situations.

It’s unclear when precisely the new guidance will be released.
