Sheriff: Steuben man left scene of crash where he caused $9,000 in damage

Sheriff Jim Allard reports the arrest of a 35-year-old Woodhull man following an investigation into a one-car crash that happened in March.

According to investigators, Timothy Decker, 35, left the scene of that crash, which happened on County Route 102.

He struck a utility pole and left the scene without reporting it. The damage to the property exceeded $9,000, according to investigators.


As result, Decker was charged with criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a crash, and failure to keep right.

The charges will be answered at a later date.

Sheriff Allard thanked the public for their assistance identifying the driver of the vehicle.
