Canandaigua man faces public lewdness charge after incident at Hopewell store

Sheriff Kevin Henderson reports the arrest of a Cannadaigua man following an investigation into an incident that happened on January 2 in Hopewell.

According to the sheriff, Paul Goodrell, 52, of Canandaigua was charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.


The investigation was launched after an incident at a retail establishment in the town of Hopewell on January 2.

Goodrell is accused of exposing his genitals to an 11-year-old inside the store, which was not identified.

He’s currently being held at the Ontario County Jail for a parole violation. An appearance ticket was issued and the charges will be answered at a later date.
