A man from Allegany County was taken into custody in Livingston County following an investigation into decades of rape and sex abuse.
Investigators say it started in October 2020 when a woman said she had been sexually abused by a man she knew in the late-1990s. They learned through investigation that there were a number of victims, and in some cases- the assaults took place over a span of 60 years.
Frank Wright, 75, was ultimately taken into custody and charged with five counts of first-degree rape for attacks between 1987 and 1988. He was also charged with five felony counts of sodomy for raping a child between 1992 and 1996.
Wright faces additional charges of sex abuse and course of sexual conduct against a child after allegations of a 4-year-old Avon victim surfaced.
He was held on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secured bond.
Other victims are asked to contact the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office- who notes that the investigation remains active with tips. Individuals can call 585-243-7100.
