A house fire late last week was made worse by windy conditions, according to first responders in Canisteo.
It happened at 5 Stewart St. in the village around 10:25 a.m.
Two individuals lived at the two-story house. One of them was treated for smoke inhalation.
When they escaped the home- the door was left open, which allowed the wind to blow the flames through it.
Firefighters say the second story came down onto the first- causing it to be a total loss.
No life-threatening injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
