A GoFundMe has been launched for the family devastated by an overnight fire in the town of Sennett.
Laurie Guzewicz, who resided at the home with her husband and children, told The Citizen that she felt ‘numb’ from the devastation. “I couldn’t believe it was me,” she said.
The family is looking for a house or apartment to rent, in lieu of staying at hotels for the time being.

Sennett home heavily damaged by overnight fire
Several fire departments were called to a large blaze that happened overnight in the town of Sennett.
The fire itself was on Walker Rd., but prompted the shutdown of several area roads as crews worked the scene, according to overnight DOT updates.
When firefighters arrived the home was fully-involved. The call came in around 10 p.m.

Auburn, Fleming, Skaneateles, Owasco, Throop, Moravia, and Aurelius all responded to the scene.
It took two hours to put most of the fire out, as strong winds made fighting the fire more difficult.
Reports from first responders indicated that all occupants got out safely, and that was at least thanks in part to the quick action of the deputies who arrived on-scene first.
It’s unclear at this time if the property was a total loss. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
