It was opening night in the Finger Lakes East boys and girls basketball leagues on Tuesday night. Marcus Whitman, playing their first game as a member of the FL East, won in Newark after senior point guard Jordan Lahue scored 25 first half points and buried a late three-pointers. Meanwhile, the Mynderse boys won at Penn Yan and Pal-Mac pulled away from Waterloo in the fourth quarter to record a 17 point win in Palmyra.
On the girls side, Waterloo opened with a 20 point home win over rival Pal-Mac while Penn Yan defeated Mynderse and Midlakes erupted for 82 points in a home opening win over Newark. In the FL West, Marcus Whitman recorded their first win for new head coach Liz Royston and Red Jacket edged out HAC.
It’s over from Waterloo. The Waterloo Indians(1-0, 1-0) defeat the Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders(0-1, 0-1) by a final score of 48-28 on Tuesday night to open up the 2021 season. @palmacsports @PalMac_CSD @WaterlooAD pic.twitter.com/VM0STWQhXB
