Rep. Reed concerned about $1.9T COVID-19 relief bill

Congressman Tom Reed (R-23) says now is not that time to pursue a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill.

The Republican says members of the House are raising concerns about the bill, which is making its way through Congress.

“You have Democratic scholars and economic leaders on the Democratic side of the aisle that are screaming from the mountain, saying ‘Don’t do this, this is not the path to pursue at this time,’” Reed told 13WHAM. He contended that the legislation is a move to the ‘hard left’.

He says a bi-partisan effort to change the bill will begin soon. Among the issues – ensuring that only certain groups of people receive the $1,400 stimulus checks promised in President Joe Biden’s plan.
