On Wednesday Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that arenas would be allowed to reopen later this month.
However, they would only be allowed 10% capacity for the time being. The overall limit placed on these facilities is 10,000.
There will be a testing requirement, which has been the norm for large events. Arenas will also have to seek out approval from the state Department of Health to hold a large event.
Everyone in attendance will have to test negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of it. There will also be temperature checks and mask requirements on-site.
NEW: @NYGovCuomo announces that sports and concert venue arena’s in New York State, including @barclayscenter, can reopen on February 23.
Restrictions include 10% capacity, a negative test prior to entry, spread out assigned seating and mandatory face coverings for attendees.
