Penn Yan man sentenced to 10 years in prison for predatory sex assault case

A Penn Yan sex offender was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Yates County Court on Tuesday.

The Finger Lakes Times reported that Timothy Brewer, 65, of Penn Yan had pleaded guilty to predatory sexual assault against a child, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

He was a registered level two offender at the time of his arrest in 2020. Brewer was accused of grooming and luring a child under the age of 11 to perform sexual acts that increased in severity over the course of the incidents.

They occurred between December 2019 through May 2020.

He was convicted of a predatory crime in 1996 in Pennsylvania.
