The chief of the Interlaken Police Department says he will retire in February.
Chief Leon Anderson will officially retire on February 14, after holding the title for eight years.
“I agreed to stay on as long as I could and that I would continue to work on the police reform until it was completed,” Anderson told the Finger Lakes Times. “I assured him that I would make sure the department was a turnkey operation, and he believes that the policy changes to meet the governor’s requirement for police reform initiatives would be made.”
