Seneca Falls churches will ring bells 400 times to remember 400,000 dead from COVID-19

A trio of local churches in this Seneca County community will ring their bells 400 times to remember the 400,000 lives lost in the U.S. to COVID-19.

Trinity Episcopal Church, the Seneca Falls United Methodist Church and the First Presbyterian Church will start tolling their bells at 5:30 p.m., according to the Finger Lakes Times.

It’s part of a nationwide tribute to remember the lives that have been lost to the virus. The Rev. J. Brad Benson of Trinity Episcopal Church said that church intends to toll its bell every eight seconds.
