A Weedsport man is facing serious charges for discharging a gun in the Washington D.C. area earlier this month.
The incident was not connected to unrest at the Capitol on January 6th.
Instead, Moses Geri, 38, was arrested on January 1st around 2 a.m. after police responded to a location in Arlington, Virginia. He was holding a firearm when they arrived, according to a press release from County Police.
He was charged with discharging a firearm in a public place, discharging a firearm in or across a road, brandishing a firearm, and discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school. He was also charged with reckless handling of a firearm, as well as one count of being drunk in public.
The Citizen had a Freedom of Information Act request declined. He was allegedly seen pointing two firearms at a window of a hotel.
