A Romulus man was taken into custody on more than a dozen charges after an investigation in Seneca County.
On January 11th at about 6:30 p.m. deputies arrested Joel A. Shirk, 31, of Romulus on multiple charges following an investigation into alleged sexual activity with a minor.
Shirk was charged with first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors, 12 counts of criminal sexual act, and endangering the welfare of a child.
It is alleged that Shirk subjected the victim to sexual activity on at least twelve occasions between August and October of 2020.
Shirk was arraigned in the Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond. He is to reappear in the Junius Town Court on January 14th at 5 p.m.
