The City of Canandaigua wants to see if they can secure some grant funding for the Main Street corridor.
There’s upwards of $500,000 on the table for communities like Canandaigua, as they weigh the possibility of renovate and fill vacancies in at least four buildings on Main Street.
The deadline is January 15th, according to reporting by The Daily Messenger, and City Manager John Goodwin.
“We’re going to make it happen for the betterment of the community,” he told The Daily Messenger of the City’s effort to secure the funding. The ‘go ahead’ was expected to be secured at Thursday’s meeting.
The City Manager noted that there is no local match as part of the grant funding.
