Bills activate RB T.J. Yeldon from Reserve/COVID-19 list

The Buffalo Bills activated veteran running back T.J. Yeldon from the Reserve/COVID-19 list today. The move brings Buffalo’s active roster back up to 53 players prior to the start of the NFL playoffs.

Yeldon, 27, has been inactive more often than not on game days this year, as rookie Zack Moss and second-year man Devin Singletary have shouldered the load in the offensive backfield. Yeldon appeared in three games this season, all while Moss was out with a toe injury. He carried ten times for 70 yards and added one catch—a 22-yard touchdown against the Tennessee Titans—on four targets.

Yeldon probably would have seen some carries in the regular-season finale had he been healthy, but the Bills instead activated rookie Antonio Williams from the practice squad. He made the most of the opportunity, rushing for 63 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries against the Miami Dolphins.

Given that he was inactive for much of the year, Yeldon will almost certainly be a healthy scratch in the Wild Card game against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend.
