The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for part of the Finger Lakes ahead of some wintry precipitation that will come tonight.
The NWS has issued the advisory for Northern Cayuga and Wayne counties where 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected.
The advisory runs from Monday at 9 p.m. until Tuesday at 4 p.m. Forecasters say to expect snow-covered roads in those area during the Tuesday morning commute.
A wind advisory is active for today in parts of the Finger Lakes and Western New York. Monroe County could see gusts in excess of 50 mph. “Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects,” forecasters with the National Weather Service said. “Be sure outdoor holiday decorations are secure. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”
