Rochester Regional Health is postponing all non-essential surgeries at its hospitals with one local exception.
The health system announced that based on state guidelines, all hospitals – including those operated by RRH – would need to enhance bed capacity by 25%.
The exception is Clifton Springs Hospital in Ontario County, which will apparently continue elective surgeries for the time being, according to News10NBC.
Governor Andrew Cuomo warned earlier this week that if hospitals get near capacity, it would trigger a full shutdown of the state’s economy. He said that unlike the spring surge, this one is impacting Upstate New York to a greater extent than Downstate or the New York City-area.
