The Wayne County Health Department says it identified 49 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
It brought the total number of cases in the county to 1,234 since the pandemic began. There had been a total of 943 resolutions to date.
However, there were nine new cases added to the ‘active’ list, which means that 271 people in Wayne County are battling the virus. In a bit of good news, there were three fewer residents requiring hospitalization due to the virus – bringing the total number of active hospitalizations to 29.
There were 35 cases of COVID-19 in nursing homes or long-term care facilities in Wayne County.
