The Ontario County Health Department provided an update on Friday regarding new cases of COVID-19 in the community.
There were 66 new cases reported, which were all community-acquired. “Lots are associated with other cases, congregant living, healthcare workers, and several are currently under investigation,” officials said. They noted that cases traced back to a Halloween party and Thanksgiving dinners.
In some cases people were exposed by asymptomatic carriers of the virus.
It brings the total number of active cases in Ontario County to 331. There are currently 12 residents hospitalized, and 38 total deaths.
The County did not report any new deaths on Friday. There are currently 650 people in mandatory quarantine.
