A native of Livonia will start in a role with Ontario County that has temporarily been filled by the next-in-line.
Christopher DeBolt, who has spent the last four years as the Washington County Administrator was approved for the role of Ontario County Administrator.
This week the Board of Supervisors approved the move, which will allow DeBolt to serve out the remainder of former administrator Mary Krause’s term, which came to an early, unexpected end earlier this year.
Brian Young had been serving as interim administrator.
DeBolt will begin working for Ontario County on December 14th, according to officials. It’s unclear if Young, who has worked for the county for nearly three decades, applied for the administrator job – but officials confirmed to the Daily Messenger than many candidates were considered.
DeBolt has degrees from Cornell University and SUNY Syracuse University Environmental Science and Forestry.
