Possible COVID exposure at two bars in Canandaigua

Public health officials are warning about two possible COVID-19 exposures that happened at Canandaigua-area restaurants on Friday and Saturday.

A patron who tested positive for the virus visited
Jose and Willy’s and Niagara Bar and Restaurant while contagious.

Those visits occurred between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. at Jose and Willy’s on Friday, and then between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Saturday at Niagara Bar and Restaurant.

Contact tracing has been taking place, and anyone who believes they may have been exposed should monitor themselves for symptoms.

COVID regulations were followed, so health officials are confident that the risk of transmission at those venues is low.

However, on Wednesday the state announced that all bars and restaurants would have to close at 10 p.m. moving forward, as it tries to clamp down on spiking COVID numbers.
