Democrat Joe Biden was declared the winner of the presidential election on Saturday by a number of media outlets – including the Associated Press and Fox News.
Most other major networks and outlets declared Biden the winner of the election, which played out over the course of several years through an historically challenging campaign process.
The 77-year-old positioned himself as a moderate Democrat who could unite the country.
The projected victory broke for Biden on Saturday after securing enough votes to win Pennsylvania. Vote counting continued, and results are not final until all legal challenges are concluded – and results certified.

President Trump did not concede and said that legal action would follow on Monday.
However, that wasn’t the approach of President-elect Biden. He released a statement on Saturday after the projections were announced. “With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation,” Biden said. “There’s nothing we can’t do if we do it together.”
Supporters gathered in major cities across the U.S. after the victory. In Washington D.C., people took to the Lafayette Square and the White House with signs, balloons, and more.
