One ticketed, another hospitalized after Ontario County crash

One person was ticketed for driving without a license after a two-car crash that shut down State Route 5&20 for a short time on Monday.

Deputies say vehicles operated by Sandra Heacock, 53, of East Bloomfield, and Bo Mikalunas, 27, of Dundee were traveling west on 5&20 when one of the vehicles attempted to make a left turn.

That vehicle, according to deputies, was operated by Heacock. She was struck from behind by Mikalunas’ vehicle.

The 53-year-old was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital for treatment.

Deputies say Mikalunas was not hurt, but ticketed for following too closely and aggravated unlicensed operation.

Both vehicles had to be towed. The westbound lane of 5&20 between Route 64 South and Gauss Road was closed for a short period of time.
