The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says its investigating a fatal accident involving a young child, which happened on October 23rd around 10:25 a.m.
It happened on Ernsberger Road in the town of Varick. Deputies were called there for the report of an unresponsive three-year-old male.
Additional first responders from the Romulus Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, and South Seneca Ambulance responded to the scene.
While extensive life-saving measures were employed at the scene, the child ultimately succumbed to injuries at Geneva General Hospital.
“The death appears to be accidental, but remains under investigation,” Sheriff Tim Luce said in a press release.
Investigators are working closely with Seneca County Child Protective Services.
No additional information was provided about the accident, or what led to deputies being called to the scene.
