Deputies: Driver didn’t have license at time of crash that shut down W. Tyre Road

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says a 33-year-old driver was ticketed following a crash in Tyre.

Deputies responded to West Tyre Road and Pucker Road for the report of a vehicle in a ditch. Upon arrival, deputies located the driver, identified as Anthony Rizzo, 33, who said he was traveling west when a deer entered the roadway.

The deer struck the driver’s side of the vehicle, resulting in it spinning 180-degrees. It collided into the north side of the ditch.

Deputies said in a press release that Rizzo was operating the vehicle on a permit, without a valid license. He was checked over at the scene and released.

He was cited for driving without insurance and without a licensed supervisor. West Tyre Road was briefly shut down while the vehicle was removed.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Magee Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance.
