Health officials in Ontario County are alerting local residents of a report of blue-green algae bloom in a portion of Canandaigua Lake.
The swimming park at Kershaw Beach and the small boat launch area have been closed.
Other parts of Canandaigua Lake do not have visible blooms and remain open, per officials.
Exposure to blue-green algae can be harmful for both humans and animals. Anyone who comes in contact with blooms should wash the impacted area with soap and water, or use clean water to rinse it thoroughly.
