Officials in New York State say they are investigating more than 240 possible cases of a rare health condition linked to children and the Novel Coronavirus.
It’s called MIS-C, and earlier in the year, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said there were a little under 100 possible cases.
That number has more than doubled.
Officials say that the spotting of this possible condition, which doctors know little about at the moment, has slowed down since the initial 100 cases cropped up.
As schools aim to reopen in the fall, MIS-C remains a concern.
That said, the condition is rare enough that public health officials are not overly concerned at this point.
