Two dogs confiscated after incident at Boughton Park in East Bloomfield

Authorities say a Rochester man was ticketed for animal cruelty after an incident at Boughton Park on Tuesday.

The Ontario County Humane Society, Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police responded to Boughton Park on Stirnie Road in the Town of East Bloomfield after a witness called 911, reporting that a male struck a small dog with a stick and dragged it down a trail by the leash.

Upon arrival, a male matching the witness’ description was located. Investigation determined that Albert Tomlin Jr., 41, of Rochester was in possession of two 11-week old Rottweiler puppies, who were confiscated due to the incident.

They are currently being held at the Ontario County Humane Society, and did not appear to be injured. However, they are being evaluated.

Tomlin was charged with animal cruelty, a misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket for East Bloomfield Town Court.
