One person treated at local hospital after incident at Ithaca Falls

On Tuesday around 4:26 p.m. the Ithaca Police Department responded to Ithaca Falls for the report of an injured person.

Police say that it was reported a person had fallen from the cliff area and injured several people below.

Upon arrival, officers located three people that sustained injuries when rocks had fallen from the cliffs near the falls.


One of those individuals was transported to Cayuga Medical Center for treatment.

None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to police.

The Ithaca Police Department responded along with the Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance. Police are reminding locals and visitors to be mindful of the potential for accidents like this, and choose carefully where to view the falls from.
